Like Seoulman101 said you need $25,000 to qualify as day trader and be permitted to make 4 or more transactions. If you have less in your account and you go over your 4 trades a week you are treated as a day trader for life and you may face penalties. You have to watch the news, world markets specially China, Hong Kong and Japan, Futures market, etc…

computer radiation from 4+ computers in an enclosed space for prolonged periods of time spent in the room cause brain damage.

im not sure about the negative comments…so far…this is the only guy has the ability to give it to his audience straight and simple.
i mean if the title of your video has the word beginner or basics…that’s what i expect to see basic sh** not quantum physics!
you need an account, software, computer, etc. see BASICS!

Yes you can. If you have a cash account instead of a margin account. You just have to know how to manage your money so you have always settled funds to use. I am day trading 1-2 stocks per day. Always close my trades before the day ends and never hold them overnight.

pageau1987, you can day trade with less than $25k if you have margin on your account, the broker will cover you on your 3 day settlement funds with your margin.

If you dont have 20k you have to wait thre days for the cash to clear… SLOW SLOW PROSSES… This guy is not really with it

adam3176 – thats not so, you have to wait three days for settlement if you have a cash account. But if you have a margin account, you dont have to wait for the 3 day settlement. If you actually “day trade” (open and close the same position on the same day) with your margin account….then you need 25 K because that is what brokers require once they label you as a pattern day trader. You can always swing trade if you dont have 25k.

Just to add something…
Volver’s correct on the cash account. However, you can make 3 round trips (daytrades) within 5 business days before getting the good old PDT label. As he said, you can always hold a position overnight, but manage your risk, and don’t do it just to have another daytrade available.
